Dr. Candice E. Bennett, MD, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and has aspired to become a physician from a young age. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Xavier University of Louisiana, during which she also worked as a medical assistant at LCMC Health Urgent Care in Algiers, Louisiana.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2018, Dr. Bennett completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Detroit Medical Center Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township, Michigan where she received the Special Recognition Award. Dr. Bennett furthered her medical education by completing Cardiology Fellowship at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Bennett has a strong clinical interest in women's preventative cardiac health and co-authored a chapter on cardiovascular health in pregnancy for the book "BIA, She is the Force," which is dedicated to empowering and advancing heart health for women.
Dr. Bennett is board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-eligible in Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, traveling, baking gourmet desserts, and cooking both Southern comfort food and Hispanic dishes. After spending seven years in the Metro Detroit area, she is excited to bring her compassion and expertise to warm and sunny South Florida.
