Dr. Amy Eversole Discusses Heart Health with Women in Philanthropy of the Treasure Coast

Posted on May 20, 2026 in Cardiology

Dr. Amy Eversole, one of our esteemed cardiologists, recently spoke at a Women in Philanthropy of the Treasure Coast event, where she discussed women’s heart health. During her presentation, she shared important information about heart disease symptoms, highlighted how women’s heart health can differ from men’s, and offered proactive steps women can take to encourage early intervention and lower their risk of heart disease.

Heart disease can uniquely affect women due to hormonal changes, pregnancy history, and stress, which can contribute to delayed diagnosis. It's also important to recognize that women do not always experience the "classic" heart attack symptoms many people associate with heart disease, such as severe chest pain.

Instead, symptoms may be more subtle and can include shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or discomfort in the jaw, neck, back, or shoulders. As a result, some women may not immediately recognize these symptoms as signs of a heart problem and may delay seeking care. At Florida Cardiovascular Partners, we're dedicated to helping patients learn more about their heart health and take appropriate steps to maintain it.
